The term "carbon neutral" refers to the state in net greenhouse gas emissions to the environment issued are zero. The ultimate goal is not to affect the natural concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Because CO2 is the main greenhouse gas, the term "CO2 Neutral" or "Carbon Neutral" is often equated with "climate neutral".
Being "carbon neutral" means that the end result of an activity, a process or a project such as the production of goods, provision of a service or consumption has not issued more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere that they have been able to capture or remove.
